Best antivirus
there's
a lot of pc anti-virus software out there and they all claim that they're the
best but which ones are actually the best and which ones just kind of suck
today we're going to be comparing and contrasting the top five antiviruses for
windows 10.so let's get started
firstly
you should know that your windows computer alreadyhasan antivirus and it's
called
Windows
defender
and
it's pretty good for a lot of security needs but they are three big problems
one 1)it only protects against certain kinds of malware 2) it doesn't get
updated of ten and 3)there's no accountability from microsoft now that last
point well it's pretty important because if you get hacked you can't go yelling
at Microsoft for failing to protect you well you can but they're just not going
to listen to you needless to say windows defender did not make it onto our top
five list of best pc antivirus but these five did a quick okay so moving on
1)
Norton 360.
Norton
is the best of the best especially for windows 10users its malware detection
rates are some of the highest in the industry scoring 100 detection on all of
our tests it's great to blocking all malware from viruses to spyware to
ransomware and everything in between and Norton 360has some great add-onsas
well now it's got a pretty good vpn with unlimited browsing data it's got a
password manager cloud storage dark web monitoring a webcam blocker and some of
the best parental controls that we've ever used now one thing you need to know
is that Norton has slightly different names and offering sin different
locations around the world if for example you're in the us some of the more
advanced Norton 360 plans include life lock protection which is an excellent
form of identity theft protection complete with it get this one million dollar
identity theft insurance policy it's a great plan one of the best cyber
security protections you can get but it's only available for users in the us outside
of the us advanced norton 360plans give an additional 50 to 75 gigs of storage
space and coverage for up to 10 devices across all platforms and devices
overall Norton’s got the best windows 10 protection for most people and like
2)
MacAfee
MacAfee
is another industry leader in the internet security world and for good reason
its antivirus engine stop notch and scored perfect detection rates against all
the malware that we tested MacAfee’s total protection package is pretty similar
to Norton 360 but MacAfee is a little different in what it offers and the
interface is also pretty different now personally i prefer Norton’s interface
but i know plenty of people who think mcafee is better so it's just up to you
to find the one that you like the best MacAfee’s total protection includes a
vpn device optimizer network security scanner dark web monitoring file shredder
and encrypted storage if you're looking to cover more devices than just a
single pc MacAfee’s total protection family plan in the us outside the us it's called
household covers 10 devices and adds parental control which are pretty good not
as good as Norton’s but still pretty good and there's identity theft protection
as well on the two most advanced plans but again only for users in the us and
again i put a link to mcafee's the best
value real quick though be fore we move on to number three i want to ask you to
please like this video it shows us that you appreciate the time that it's taken
us to make this article thank you so much all right.
3)
Avira
Avira
has some of the best malware protection around complete with an excellent real-time
scanning engine vpn a password manager a secure browser a firewall several
device performance boosters and a lot more one of our favourite things about
avira is its privacy optimizer it's an easy to use scanner that finds and
changes the privacy settings on your computer which are leaking your information
now with literally two clicks inside the dashboard avira found hundreds of
potential privacy vulnerabilities on our pcs that hackers could easily have exploited
now overall avira's interface is intuitive and attractive and all of its
features and there are many are all laid out in a simple and easy to use way all
of the avira packages are worth checking out
4)
Bullguard
we
included bull guard on th is list because there are a lot of pc gamers out here
who don't use ant viruses because they think it's going to slow down their game
play while most antivirus nowadays do have a gaming mode of some kind bull guard's
game booster feature actually increases cpu speed and makes games run smoother and
faster than they otherwise would it’s pretty fantastic apart from the game
booster like the other anti-viruses that we've listed here bull guards scored
perfect detection rates against all of our malware tests and there are some
other cool features as well like parental controls an did protection for people
outside of the us yeah honestly though i think the user interface is pretty
clunky and somewhat awkward and I only really recommend bull guard to gamers
and if you are a gamer this is probably the antivirus that you want.
5)
Total av
total
av scanning system is the same asavira's so you know its malware detection
engine is top notch and like all the others on this list total av scored
perfect test results against all of our malware tests may be my favourite thing
about total avis how it handles pc optimization the junk cleaner found a ton of
files that other programs missed and the start-up optimizer cut my start uptime
on my old laptop in half from three minutes to just under one minute it was
like a new computer total aval so comes with a pretty good vpn an ad blocker
and a password manager on its most expensive plan which is called total security
personally i don't think the ad blocker or password manager worth the upgrade and
the unlimited vpn still comes included on the mid-tier plan the internet
security which i think is the best value plan wow you made it all the way
through this article it means that you’re absolutely serious about finding the best
antivirus out there in that case.
